Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Layline mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Layline ("we," "our," or "us"). We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting.

2. Description of Service

Layline is a personal finance and budgeting application that helps users:

• Track expenses and income
• Create and manage budgets
• Set and monitor financial goals
• Visualize spending patterns
• Receive bill reminders and notifications

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use and is intended for informational purposes only. Layline does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you may need to create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and update your information as needed
• Keep your account credentials confidential
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Subscription and Payments

Layline offers a premium subscription with a 7-day free trial. For subscriptions:

• Payment is processed through the Apple App Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Renewal charges are processed within 24 hours of the end of the current period
• You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your App Store account settings
• Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policies

Prices are subject to change. We will provide notice of any price changes before they take effect.

5. User Conduct

When using the Service, you agree NOT to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on the rights of others
• Use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Layline and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not include the right to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of any data, content, or information you input into the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all necessary rights to input such content into the Service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of information
• Warranties that defects will be corrected

Layline does not guarantee any specific financial outcomes from using the Service. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LAYLINE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Service interruption or computer damage
• Cost of substitute services
• Any damages arising from your use of the Service

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Layline, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting the app and contacting us to request account deletion. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
